Caduet®
(generic: Amlodipine Besylate and Atorvastatin Calcium)
Caduet is actually a combination of two drugs. It contains Norvasc® (generic name amlodipine besylate) used to treat high blood pressure, chest pain or blocked arteries of the heart) and Lipitor® (generic name atorvastatin calcium) used along with diet and exercise to lower high cholesterol. Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker is used to treat high blood pressure or chest pain (angina) and atorvastatin, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (also known as a "statin") used to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels in your blood. Reducing high blood pressure and cholesterol levels may help prevent strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems.
Caduet is used to treat patients who require treatment for both high blood pressure or chest pain and high cholesterol. Caduet is not for everyone, it is a prescription drug and only your doctor can prescribed it to you.

Caduet® is registered trademarks of Pfizer Inc. A generic version is also available. It is sold under the generic name amlodipine/atorvastatin. All other brands of these medications are trademarks of their respective owners.
