I ordered this product based on the positive reviews as well as the names Paulding, Rath and Henderson. After I received the item I opened the bottle to examine it's contents as well as reading the labels. While reading the label’s I noticed that it states “Refrigeration recommended.” This is a very important fact that is not advertised anywhere. I travel a lot and anything that needs refrigeration is way too difficult to do (especially for a supplement). I am not sure why such an important fact is not advertised more prominent. I am so very disappointed as I had very high hopes for this product…

    Using the Linus Pauling vitamin C method for heart problems, the minimum dosage is 6,000 mg/day. The Heart Plus takes two tablets to make 500 mg. That means I would have to take a minimum of 14 tablets a day. The bottle holds 180 tablets, so I could go through the bottle in about 13 days. It is easier for me to order the vitamin C, L-Proline, L- Lylsine separatly in the 1,000 mg dose each tablet and skip all the extra pills. While it is handy having the products in one pill, the expense and inconvenience makes it a product I probably won't order again.

    I called the company and was told that they listed the Vitamin C source in the website. I looked and could not find this information. I called again and another lady replied that this information is NOT on the website. Then I opined that if I was to follow the 5,000 mg Pauling therapy I would have to pop 20 capsules per day (5,000 dose / 500 serving = 10 x 2 caps per serving = 20), then I would need assurances about the QUALITY of the Vitamin C and the product itself. The second lady responded that they observe recognized manufacturing guidelines and that they could not disclose their source of Vitamin C. I said I understood. But I asked if they have this information (quality control methods) on the website and she replied no. Therefore I cannot use this product. This is a life or death issue for me.

    Research shows that those with high lipoprotein (a), like cholesterol, may be at great risk of developing heart disease or stroke, but lp(a) is not routinely tested. Fortunately, my doctor tested mine and my lp(a) was a bit on the high side, even though my other cholesterol levels were normal. So get your lp(a) tested along with your cholesterol! I did some research and found these these 3 ingredients could help lower lp(a). I took this supplement for a few months, then retested, and my lab tests showed my lp(a) is now within normal range! Since stroke runs in my family, this is a big deal! I will keep taking this for the rest of my life.
